When I was growing up on Louisville,till age 20, that would be 1950, They said it was two places, if you lived inf the then East end, it would be easier to go to Jeffersonville, and the West end would go to New Albany. No personal knowledge, but that ssemed to be the custom if you wanted to get married in a hurry.
