I am looking for any information regarding Catharine DAVIS b. 8 Aug 1845 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. Her father's name may have been John. I do not know her mother's name. Catharine was married in 1871 in Augusta, Des Moines Co, Iowa in 1871. According to later census records, her mother was born in Indiana and her father in Alabama. I have no information about Catharine before her marriage except family tales saying she didn't have to comb her own hair until she was 18 and being related to some famous Davis who was a spy during the Civil War. I have not been able to confirm either of these tales. I would appreciate any help. Patty
