Teddy, and others, Remember, the question concerned PENSION application files, which are different than the index card files for Union and Confederate soldier's military records. Confederate pension files were authorized on a state level by that state, such as Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, etc. Union soldiers' Pension files have not been microfilmed and must be obtained from the National Archives or other Federal agency.
