    3. For those interested about Waverly Hills Tuberculosis Sanatorium, I would suggest you check out the following site. It gives details of its past and present. http://www.waverlyhillstbsanatorium.com/ I had searched this yesterday and came across an even more informative site yesterday pertaining to its years of operation but can't seem to locate it now. My kids have apparently deleted it from my History- HMMMM. Anyhow, the above site is pretty informative, I would suggest you read the letters by Ellie Reed Norris to get an understanding of life with TB. Hope this helps some, you can find more by "Googling" Waverly Hills TB Sanatorium. 3. Kenny, There is another Tuberculosis Center not far from Dixie, and it is still open, except they care for the profanely mentaly retarded, with horrible body handicaps. It is still called Hazelwood, and the exact name is Hazelwood ICF/MR, and sits on Bluegrass Ave., across the street from the old St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital { now Caritas Medical Center. It is still owned by the State of Kentucky. I worked there for over 5 years and they to talked about people that had to live there, and die there. Of course it sits on a "hill" like Waverly did.
