Thanks Debbie and Teddy for responding back. Yes that is the correct family. Also in the 1850 Census is George Sr.'s brother William (b. 1/1/1803 d. 4/23/1864). I am trying to go one generation up looking for George and William's parents in Germany. I knew Catherine died in 1857 shortly after remarrying her second husband in 1854. We always assumed that George had died, thus the reason the three ended up in an orphanage and the reason why Catherine remarried. However, I just found info stating George died in 12/16/1891 (b. 1801). (but no sign of him in Census records after 1850 ) With this newly found actual death date, I though I'd renew my attempt to find the parents if I could now locate an obituary or death certificate for him. --- Debbie <[email protected]> wrote: > Bob, > In the 1850 census, I find your George NOLD with wife Catherine and > three > children, George, Frank and Mary.
