Judy, how do you pronounce your last name? Do you say lawnhair? Have you considered a spelling change? Like Landherr of which there are some in Jeffersontown. I don't know anything about the family but some of the Germans who died in Jeffersontown took their loved ones to Cave Hill for burial. IF your copy has an index, and it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you look up the following?: I would be looking for anyone with the surname LANDAUER, but one in particular is Madel Landauer, who was supposed to have died in Louisville in 1859. Does Cave Hill have a Jewish section? He was Jewish so he might be there. One other name would be Madel's sister, Caroline, who married a Mr. STRAUSS. I don't know his first name. Caroline was born in 1834 in Germany, and, according to family legends, she was supposed to be in Louisville in the 1860's. I know this information is pretty sketchy, but my Louisville Landauers are hard to find.
