    3. I made a trip to the Long Run Cemetery today. I was hoping to find the grave of John Bell but I couldn't find him. John Bell's son, Patterson Bell, married Betsy Bridges, daughter of Benjamin Bridges who is buried in the Long Run Cemetery and once owned the land. Does anyone know the name of Benjamin Bridges wife? Her gravestone is illegible. I have her name in my records as Susan but I don't know more than that. Does anyone know if there is a list of all the known graves in the cemetery? Many of the stones were not legible. I found several photos online but not a list of graves. Thanks, Sharon Sharon@MeriwetherSociety.org

    3. Dori, This is the family of the John Bell that I'm searching for. He was the son of John & Mary (Patterson) Bell of Chester Co., Pennsylvania but as an adult he lived in Albemarle Co., Virginia where he served in the Rev. War. He brought his family to Kentucky in 1802. Some sources list 3 marriages for him 1. Anne Tunstall 2. Anna Lilly 3. Mary Henderson. I have found no trace of this second marriage. He did marry Mary Henderson. She was the widow of William Henderson. Her maiden name was Beard. I think that John Bell and his wife Mary may have been buried in the old cemetery in West Louisville. Many of those graves were moved when the cemetery was turned into a park. I may have found them buried in Eastern Cemetery. That cemetery is another bad story but there is a listing for a John Bell there and he once had a headstone. It no longer exists. I have searched several times. Someone told me that my John Bell was actually buried at Long Run Cemetery but I haven't found a gravestone for him there. Thanks for your help. 3. Hey Sharon, Forgive me for being slow, but I did find a partial listing of Long Run Cemetery in the "Wilderness Road Cemeteries of Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia" book by Robert Foster Johnson. I cannot answer as to who Benjamin Bridge's wife might have been, but I do have dates from his stone, if you don't already have them. This is the complete listing of what was in the book. Obviously, it is barely only a fifth of the total number of burials at the cemetery. This author truly did only list the oldest graves he found. The listing is in the exact order as he cataloged them. "Long Run Baptist Church in eastern Jefferson County, located 1 mile north of US 60 on Long Run Creek in churchyard, approximately 100 graves. The church and graveyard among the oldest in the state. First log church erected by Capt. Abraham Lincoln (1738-1786). It is said he is buried under the church. The ancestors of two presidents worshipped here. (Lincoln and Truman) Netherton, Ann J. - wife of John Netherton, b. 03 Aug 1795, d. 19 Jul 1874 Enochs, Ureth - b. 14 Feb 1801, d. 28 Feb 1831 Crutchfield, Mary - wife of S. F. Crutchfield, d. 20 Aug 1826 at 29 years Bridges, Benjamin - b. 06 Jan 1759, d. 17 Aug 1836 Eaton, Elizabeth - wife of E. Eaton, b. ????, d. 02 Nov 1826 Conn, Nancy - wife of Trammel Conn, b. 13 Mar 1806, d. 30 Aug 1847 Sturgeon, Thomas - d. 19 May 1849 (looks like a 4) at 87 years Sturgeon, Sarah - d. 21 Jan 1880 at 84 years McCune, Susan - wife of Samuel McCune, d. 15 Mar 1880 at 84 years Morris, J. G. - b. 18 Aug 1843, d. 06 Mar 1889 McCune, Andrew J. - b. 17 Jun 1883, d. 28 Feb 1857 Davis, Nancy - b. 16 Jan 1802, d. 18 Dec 1876 Davis, Bryant - b. 18 Jan 18??, d. 16 Aug 1874 Davis, Joannie - b. 18 May 1845, d. 29 Jul 1875 Davis, Nannie L. - b. 10 Jan 1848, d. 14 Feb 1882 Davis, Sarah H. - b. 07 Feb 1832, d. 12 Apr 1882 Most infants unrecorded." Any of these names flag for anyone else?
