Hello, Can you please tell me what widows lived on "before" Social Security? Widow's Pension maybe???? What I am actually getting at is I am trying to find out if there may be a form "of some kind" that my ancestor may have had to fill out that would have her parents names on it. I do have her Death record....and BOTH parents names on there differ from other sources such as the census & my gg grandmother's 1st marriage records. Since the death record information was supplied by an informant.....I was "really" hoping to find something else that she may of had to fill out herself prior to her death....that would have her parents listed. But What? Her Obituary only lists her children. Her marriage record to my gg grandfather does not list the parents names since they were in their 30's when they married. Does anyone have any ideas?
