Someone told me that the "Old Catholic Cemetery" was located near where the Porter Funeral home is on Chestnut Street. There was also a cemetery where the projects at 12th and Market are located; the playground is on top of them. According to a 1922 newspaper article that I once read while looking for something else, the Louisville Beautification League decided to remove the old headstones of pioneers and put a playground for disadvantaged children on the location. The old tombstones were used to fill potholes. Grrrr.
