I'm interested in sharing information about the BARINGER/BARRINGER families who came to Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. from Wuertenberg, Germany around 1816 through New Orleans, then up river to Louisville, Ky.. My line came to Jackson County, Indiana in the early 1800s. I have a great deal of information that I would be happy to share if you descend from these folks. I have been told and have not been able to confirm that Martha Kaufman married a Barringer . Martha was born in 1832 and the dau. of Joseph Kaufman who came to America around 1825 or in that time frame as he had a son born in the States in 1828. Do you have anything on this family ?? It would be "a great find" if you do.
