Thank you to everyone who replied with suggestions about my research request. I wanted to let you know what I did so other people can know it is an option. I was told that microfilm of the Courier-Journal is available on interlibrary loan. This is a viable option, but for this particular project I was looking for a quicker answer. The solution for me was to order a copy of the obituary directly from the newspaper. The phone number listed on their website is (502) 582-4545. If you have the date of death, it costs $12. If they cannot find an obituary, you do not pay anything. They said the turnaround time is one week. If you're willing to pay this kind of charge, it sounds like it may be a good way to obtain obits from any newspaper. Paul
