    3. There were other newspapers in competition with the Courier and the Journal, such as the Post (or Evening Post), among others. The Courier, Journal and later Courier-Journal are by far the worst newspapers I have seen in Louisville for obituaries and death notices during that time period, especially when looking for German speaking people.
