    3. Dear Tom, Thanks for the info. It is so sad to hear about that happening at Bowman...or anywhere. That may have been what Dad referred to. I'm not sure and Dad is gone now. 1. [KYJEFFER] Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville
    2. Donald L. Murphy
    3. I managed to speak with the caretaker at the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, today and he said that the Cemetery Board had reconsidered within the year and decided to publish the burials and their locations in book form before they decided to go online with the information. I was told to look for something to occur this winter some time. I'm not quite sure what that means. Hopefully, we'll soon see a new publication. They would still like a website, but I imagine that would be at least two or three years away now, as it would interfere with any sales of the book. Just wanted to give a F. Y. I. to those interested in the progress of this information being published somewhere. Grove Hill has close to 20,000 burials. Donnie

    1. [KYJEFFER] BERRY Family Photograph Album
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph album which appears to have originally belonged to the BERRY Family of Kentucky. I've completed some very basic research on the family and included my notes along with the list of photographs below. The album contains the following photographs: BERRY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM * Franklin, Ada, Kathryn Ann, and Eliza BERRY, Baker's Studio in Williamsburg, KY, 1880's or 1890's, all in 20's or 30's, Ada noted as "Mother" * Dr. Franklin King BERRY, Charlton H. Elrod & Bros. Studio in Louisville, KY, 1880's, young man in 20's, note "Probably taken while he was in Med School in Louisville, KY or just after while he was doing his intern work in the Louisville Slams" I find record of Franklin King BERRY b. 23 Nov 1866 in Williamsburg, KY the son of John Sharp BERRY and Margaret Anne SULLIVAN, married Florence HURTT in 1898 at Huntsville, TN and died 13 Nov 1912. I believe that Ada Bernina BERRY was born 30 Jan 1870 in Williamsburg, KY also to parents John Sharp BERRY and Margaret Anne SULLIVAN, married George Christian HOFFMAN on 5 Oct 1893 in Whitley Co., KY and died 6 Jul 1965. Eliza E. BERRY was born 26 Sept 1859 or 1860 in Williamsburg, KY to the same parents, married William Randolph DENHAM on 28 Aug 1878 in Whitley Co., KY and died 16 Sept 1894 in Williamsburg. The 1870 census of Watts Creek, KY includes the BERRY Family: J. S. BERRY, age 36, a Farmer, born KY Margaret BERRY, age 31, Keeping House, born KY E. E. BERRY, age 10, born KY Franklin BERRY, age 3, born KY Ada B. BERRY, age 5 months, born KY Susian A. BERRY, age 14, Domestic Servant, born KY (believed to be a black slave) William SOUTHERN, age 18, Works on Farm, born KY In 1880 the BERRY Family was recorded in the Whitley Co., KY census as follows: J. 3. My German grandmother pronounced it "cuka" too. She made homemade ones for us with plums and it was so delicious. Her name was Clara Breitenstein Sabel. She was from Stadt Allendorf in Hessen, Germany. My grandparents lived on Bardstown Road (across from where Arby's stands today) and had a wallpaper store in the front rooms of their house. They was friends with Gato the tailor. Anyone remember him? He was from Italy and had a shop on Bardstown Road. When we were kids we would walk home from St. Brigid School and stop by his shop. He would give us chewing gum so we loved him. Sharon ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barb Temple" <keenebj@insightbb.com> > Hi, You said cuka. 1. [KYJEFFER] City directories
    2. I liked that directories site, found that Grandma Brady(Ford, she married Grandpa in IN in 1909, so she should have been a BRADY) sewed for a living, and I had an Alteration Shop for a few yrs. So now I know that I learned a trade that both of my Grnadma's did! And my Vertrees didn't come to Louisville until after 1911.Grandma was a Bruner, and married grandpa in 1909, and in 1910 they were living with GGrandma and GGrandpa's house in Grayson Co KY. Seems like uncle Charlie (they called him Cliff, think that was his middle name. was the first on to be born in Jefferson Co. I knew that Mom was born in Jefferson Co. -- Teddy List Mom for the Grayson Co Ky List, Brady, Vertrees, Ford, Fulkerson, and Commonwealth http://www.kygenweb.net/pd-res/deford.html
