In the 1870's my great Grandmother spent summers in a place somewhere outside of Louisville called Cedar Refuge. I don't know whether it was a farm or an actual community. Has anyone heard of such a place? Also, does anyone have information on the apartments at the old City Hospital in Louisville? I am also interested in Louisville police history in the late 1860's through 1874. Thanks. susan
THANK YOU VERY MUCH I DO NEED A LOOK UP WANDA
Teddy, Is there an admission record for St. Thomas/St. Vincent orphanages? If so, I would really appreciate information from it. Thanks in advance, Pat
Alan, Yes, I have been to St. Andews many times but thought that some of my re- latives may have been buried in private cemeteries in that area. Any information you may have about an index for St. Andrews would really be appreciated. Also, any in formation about the Pleasure Ridge Park area in regards to research would be much appreciated. Thanks again. Pat

Just a note to Alan......hats off to you Alan for ALL of your hard work with these cemeteries. I know it had to take a lot of time for your accomplishments. Thank you for your dedication!! Debbie
Pat, There are no Poussardins, Jackeys, or hinkels in the Quillman Cemetery, but about two miles away is Saint Andrews Church Cemetery which contains all three. Were you aware of Saint Andrews? ~Alan

I don't have any idea. This family wasn't related to myself. I just remember the cemetery from my younger days and know that when the area was developed that they saved part of it. Glenn.
Alan, There are 2 small cemeteries out my way that I know of. One is on the corner of Hwy 22 and Chamberlain Lane. There is a very old house on the site. The house is falling down but it can't be torn down because someone famous once lived there. The cemetery is called the Yager Cemetery. The other one is on Murphy Lane off Hwy 22, near the fire station. I heard it mainly has African American families in it. I don't know any of the family names in there. Pam
I live in Pleasure Ridge. How long ago did they live here? Nancy
I am contacting you regarding the cemetery on St. Andew's Church Rd. Is it possible to find our if certain families are buried there? I am trying to locate any Poussardins(Pousardiens), Henkels or Jackeys. If there are any members of those families buried there, please let me know. Those relatives lived in the Pleasure Ridge Park area. Thanks in advance for you help. Pat
There is a small cemetery located on Pope Lick Road, just north of Rehl. The cemetery was once owned by Christ Evangelical Church, Jeffersontown, but I am uncertain who has charge of it at this time. Terry Brown Researching: HUTCHINSON, HARSHFIELD, HEHMAN (HAYMAN), MURRAY

One of our Landers was married to a Charles Duncan. I wonder if it was the same one. All my records are at the coast but I think your Charles is in the same time period and same area. Did he have another marriage? Paulina
Has there been any thought to restoring and cleaning up a cemetery in Jeffersontown known as the Luthern Church Cemetery. The church building is being used, but the cemetery is in a terrible condition. Since Jeffersontown is certainly a thriving community and has many modern buildings, etc., I don't understand why they let a cemetery in the heart of the city and a very old one at that, become so uncared for. Any info. on that would be appreciated, as I have ancesters buried there, but live too far away to contact anyone and help with a restoration project.
