Previously, I was told by the Local Voter Registration/Board of Elections office that they didn't keep old records but for a better explanation I spoke, today, with Ms. Taylor and this is what she told me: Everyone in the state of Kentucky had to re-register in 1973. Everything before 1973 was discarded. If a person is removed from the rolls, for any reason (moved out of state, died, etc.) the card is kept for 4 years and then discarded. Unless a person died within the previous 4 years they would have no record on them. Therefore, even before 1973 they would not have had any early records. The information on each person is: SS#, Name, Date of Birth, and Address. There is nothing as far as birth place. By signing the card you were verifying that you were a citizen, therefore, there is no naturalization information recorded. Janis in Louisville
Thanks Barb, I know about that group of Hubers, they are descended from a Simon Huber who came from the same section of Baden as my Hubers but I do not know how they would be connected. Huber is a very common surname especially in the Baden area of present day Germany Elisabeth W. Salyer elws@mounet.com

Her death certificate should tell the parents name, if they were known by whoever was the informant. She is in the death index, and this is the information I see on her, you will have to send to Frankfort for it. ELLIOTT ANNA B 080 JEFFERSON JEFFERSON 04-18-1999 030 14532 I looked at the births CD and she doesn't show up on them for KY. There is an Anna Whitfield that had Thomas J. Thank you! There was a second Delbert Elliott who died in 1979 in Henderson Co. I had kinda discounted him as a possible husband to Anna. But I guess he could be a possibility after all. If you don't mind me asking.......were there any other Elliott children born with a Whitford mother? Thanks again. You've provided some great clues. Hello. I am looking for information, family, and or kin of Anna B. Whitfield Elliott. She was born Jan 4, 1919 and died April 18, 1999. She last resided in Louisville. Parent's names unknown. Is there anyone on this list you lives in Louisville that could obtain an obit for me? She is believed to have been married to the Delbert Elliott who died on Nov 21, 1993 down in Bell Co. He is laid to rest at the Hurst Cemetery in Middlesboro. Anna B. Whitfield and a Delbert Elliott had a son named Thomas Joe Elliott. He was born Jan 18, 1944, county unknown. I am trying to find him on behalf of my niece Ashley. I do not yet know if Thomas had any siblings. If anyone has the KY Birth Index on cd and could check for me, we would be very grateful. Sincerely, Mary in CA
Hi, There's a Huber U Pick It Farm in Southern Indiana. They have a German background. You might want to try contacting them just in case. I am in a rush but later I can look up the phone number, unless you can get it yourself. Good luck, Barb T
This group has helped before with information concerning Joseph H Bunce and I would like to ask for more help. What you found before was information concerning his marriage to Josephine Mullin in 1847 or 48. I know he was Mayor of Louisville in 1869 and was Alderman for several years before that. I believe they had eight children, not hall of whom survived childhood. I also know that they moved from Louisville to Colorado after 1871. What I don't have is any information on his Mother, or Josephine's father (Joshua Mullin) or the death of the children. Any help would be appreciated. Paul Hagen
Thanks Debbie, I know about that Joseph Huber but don't know his connection to mine. In the 1850 census my Joseph Huber was spelled Joseph HOOVER . From 1860 until 1880 it was given as Joseph Huber, he died in 1888. I have the original framed tin type picture made in 1884 of all the Huber men sitting in front of the house but can only identify 5 persons in it. I would be happy to share that picture with other Huber descendants. The house still looked the same a few years ago when I visited it. After Joseph's death his widow and girls moved to the 700 block of Walnut street in Louisville, the son Andrew and his family lived on the farm. I have a much information on my Hubers, I have been researching them for several years. Unfortunately I have no one to share it with that is why I am hoping to find some distant cousins. My mother was the youngest of 10 children so I suppose most of my first cousins have passed on. Again Debbie thank you for writing me. Elisabeth Elisabeth W. Salyer elws@mounet.com
Elisabeth, I found a Joseph Huber in the 1850 census in Louisville but his wife's name is Apolonia and they have several children. I live in MO. But need information about my gg grandfather William Thomas Oliver Dickinson who married 1846 in Louisville, Ky to Muhulda Emily Ann Hoff. Both families lived in Louisville,KY.
I would like to locate some of my Huber cousins from the Louisville and Jefferson Co. KY area. My gt, grandfather Joseph Huber, born 1822 in Baden, lived on Old Six Mile lane near Jeffersontown, Ky. He had only one son, Andrew and a daughter Apolonia who married Edw, Eich. two other daughters did not marry. Elisabeth W. Salyer elws@mounet.com
Ms Hughes, the secretary at St. Boniface, was very helpful, I suppose I got a bargain or perhaps they have lowered their prices. Elisabeth W. Salyer elws@mounet.com
I've checked the 1880 KY census every way I can think of and can't find them. Do you have some childrens' names, birthdates, anything that might help narrow the search? The last time I checked with St. Boniface, they charge $25 per person, per record. Are there any Catholic churches listed that have records available? I know that some records are available form St Boniface Church , they charge $10 for each record. Elisabeth W. Salyer elws@mounet.com
Hello, I know that my ancestor was a minister........but I don't know what church. Probably Methodist or Evanglelist. Is it even possible to track down where his ministry records & church records would happen to be? He lived in Jefferson County and also Shelby County. I'd appreciate your help on this one! Francis Marion Farris - was a minister. He died in 1938. The death notice for him didn't have the information...and his wife's obituary simply said she was the widow of the former Rev. F.M. Farris. Thank You! Linda Farris Antal - cantal@cinci.rr.com
According to the Encyclopedia of Louisville, St. John's became the United Church of Christ in 1957. German was the official language until 1893 for the church, so early records are most likely in German. The EofL also gives: The church houses the archives of the German Heritage Society. Official church records (baptismal, confirmation, marriage, and death entries) date from 1848. I noted that the early records have been microfilmed by LDS and are available through the Family History Centers for those who can't make the trip to Louisville. Thanks, Deborah, I'll keep this information on hand. Unfortunately, right now I'm in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, a four-hour drive from the nearest FHC, and my local library doesn't even have a microfilm reader. Interestingly enough, the first white settler of the island I live on was a former Mormon.
