Logan Street does cross Broadway--it runs south of it. My mother-in-law lived on Logan Street north of broadway for most of her childhood. Lot on the map towards the east end of Broadway near Campbell or Clay Streets.
Sorry, don't know that can help much with this ... Kentucky doesn't have townships. The Northwest Territory was the first area of the US to be divided into townships in 1787, Kentucky counties had already began to be formed before this (1780) and were never adapted to that system. Which basically means that while you can find a nice square county with easy to find 1/2' and 1/4's of townships and ranges in Indiana, if you cross the river, you must depend on somebody's judgement and description of where a tree (which obviously no longer exists) was located next to a creek that had been renamed 3 times. Enough of my township rant... I did a Mapquest search for this address and came up with a location that I most certainly did not expect (I expected Valley Station). Valley Rd. runs off of Barret Ave. in a nearly diagonal Southeastern route toward Eastern Parkway. It's right in the middle of the polygon formed by Calvary, St. Michael's and St. Louis Cemeteries (Louisville Cemetery is nearby also). In earlier years this would likely have been in Ward 1 of the City. By 1930, I don't know, but would still guess Ward 1. Would you find a Teresa Madeline BRUCKER or Beatrice BRUCKER in your directory? Thanks, Carol Haywood
<PRE>Could those be Street names, like Logan St. which runs north and south crossing Main, Jefferson, Broadway Streets? I couldn't find a Langan or Beasly St. on a Louisville map. Barbara in Texas (but born and bred in Louisville).

Thanks Donna, that is new information for me. I have another request; our family history says that Joseph had a brother who may also have been a steamboat captain. Is there another Bunce listed there? In addition, I'm not really sure about the name of the steamship line so anything you find that sounds similar would be appreciated. And one more request, is there anything about a Joshua Mullin?
