Susan, I might have sent a blank message. No Graddy surnames in this book. Patty
Debbie, There are 10 M'Daniel surnames & 12 M'Donald surnames...Do you have any particulars in mind? I can't print them all at the moment..but I can do it over the week-end if you like. By the way..it seems that the Mc is dropped in all the Irish surnames. I don't know if it was by the author..or if that was how they wrote during this time period. Sincerely, Patty some of the McDaniel names..Angus,James,Jennings,John,Reuben,Samuel,William,George,John,Reuben, some of the McDonald names..Francis,Angus,Barnabas,Caty,James,John,Nancy,Rebecca,William,Enos
Teddy, Thanks for the marriage record. I am trying not to be too hopeful..but I believe this is the couple I am looking for. Especially since their first born son was also name Thomas Arnold. I really appreciate your help. Sincerely, Patty
Teddy, Thanks for the info. Patty
Susan, Sorry....no Graddy surnames in the book. Patty
Patty, If you happen upon any McDonald/McDaniel from Clark, Henry or Bourbon Co.'s I'd be interested. Thanks much!! Re Schardein - In the 1940's, and possibly much earlier, there was a Schardein's Tavern on Old Third Street Road--later changed to Southside Drive--in South Louisville. That's in southern Jefferson County, not far from Iroquois Park. At that time there wasn't much development in that area, so maybe that's where Schardein, KY was. (?) Bill Horine Orlando

The copies of the death certificates are that copies that were microfilmed and they are at many Libraries, if you go to the death index you will see who is now doing the coping of these certificates. in, IN there are only ones from 1911-1949 for now, but some in KY are from 1911-1951, just check out the information on the death certificate pages KyGenWeb Teddy List Mom for the Grayson Co. In tracing my Schardein line back into Jefferson County, I learned about the Schardein cemetary on 7th street, and that in the census records from 1840 through 1880 there was reference to the place of the census where my Schardein (Schardin) relatives lived, being Schardine Kentucky in Jefferson County. I wonder if anyone might have any knowledge of where this was located relative to Louisville--and possibly if the township (census place) may have been named after my relatives--and whether the cemetary may have been located in the area of what was referred to as Schardine Kentucky back in the 1840-1880 period. Allison After I printed your message, I seem to have deleted it so I will just tell you I am interested in everyone you listed with the exception of RICHIE, Pearl, RICHIE, Susan and possibly Richy, John the colored male. I have matches for all the other names. The child of J is especially interesting as I have a female child who traveled with them on a trip to France, but does not show on any census. The 1850 slave schedule shows JB Richy with 2 slaves so the John Richy (colored male) could be a slave. Pearl and Susan could also be wives or daughters whose names I do not have. So I guess I am interested in all the Richy, Riche, Richie, Richey names you have listed. Thanks so much for what you have done so far. With the Vol and page do you know if I can order a death certificate from Jefferson County? Mary Fran
Dear Patty, How nice of you to offer. How about Jesse B. Graddy of Woodford County? Arrived in KY. 1787. Thank you. Hello Ky Friends; I recently purchased a book called The Kentucky Gazette 1787-1800. Although it does not have the information I had hoped for, it does have many names and anecdotal information. It does have an index. I would be glad to look up names for anyone. Just so you know..there are alot of entries which just state names and they are just included with others in an article. Sincerely, Patty

Alex, Actually, two of the records are before 1949. Thanks so much for the offer..I have many people checking on this for me now. I continue to be amazed by the generosity of the people on this web page. Sincerely, Patty
The ones that are 1911-1951 are on microfilm at various libraries. They add one year to the microfilms in the libraries each year. Unfortunately, for 1969, your only option is to send for the death certificate.
Dear Patty, Nellie Graddy of Versailles married my Great great uncle Grover Walker. I have never been able to find anything about her family. I have a photo of her, and met her about 1950. Is she one of yours? Hello all: I have read the messages about getting copies of death certificates - the person I am interested in died in 1969 and this does not seem to fit the time frame of those people willing to do lookups - any other suggestions? thank you - Ahlive
If the deaths are prior to 1949, I can check them at the Filson Club for you. Alex > >
Thanks so much for the valuable information. Sincerely, Patty
