    3. Here's what I found. Hope it helps. "Green, Karen Mauer. "The Kentucky Gazette: Genealogical and Historical Abstracts." 2 vols. (Baltimore, Md.: Gateway Press, 1983-85.) Volume 1 covers 1787-1800; Volume 2 covers 1801-1820. These volumes are extracts of names, events, and dates from "The Kentucky Gazette" and include entries for people from many Kentucky counties. Volumes are individually indexed; each have separate indexes for persons and places." The books can be ordered from Frontier Press, the author's bookstore. The description reads: "The Kentucky Gazette, 1787-1800 & 1801-1820: Genealogical & Historical Abstracts, Green, Karen Mauer. Abstracts contain information on marriages, obituaries, court and probate records, militia, occupations, former residences, early advertisements, lost persons, heirs, estate settlements, divorce, local events, and more. A complete index to persons, place names and subjects, contains over 64,000 entries. (1984,1985), 706 pp. total, 2 vol. set (each available for $27.50 per volume), hardbound. $55.00 for both" Julie When I searched for ancestors, I found friends! --------------------------------- Yahoo! - We Remember 9-11: A tribute to the more than 3,000 lives lost

    3. I grew up in the "Southend" of Louisville. Two weeks ago, I walked the Schardein Cemetery of which you spoke of on 7th Street Road seeking info for a fellow researcher. It is a short distance from where I was raised. To reach the entrance to the cemetery, one must turn off of 7th St onto Homeview Dr. At the stop sign, make a right which leads to the entrance. I was saddened to see the extent of vandalism that had been done since my last visit there. It is a good-sized cemetery and well-kept with grass mowed and trimmed. I am unable to answer your question as to whether this area was named at one time for the Schardein family. 3. Alex, Would it be possible for you to check the marriage records at the Filson Club for Lulu Bahr (could possibly be Louise)? Her father was George B. Bahr. Lulu was born about 1863 Louisville. I have been searching for marriage and then I would have looked for death records. Lulu Bahr's mother was Josephine Frickening but at the time that Lulu would have been married the wife of George B. Bahr was Emma Schlieder. I have Lulu living in her father and step-mothers home in the Louisville 1880 Census. George B. died in 1890. Thank you in advance for your assistance! Donna
