    1. [KYJEFFER] Huber and Herrick
    2. Pat Settle
    3. Tom and list, I checked "The Encyclopedia of Louisville" and could not find any mention of a "Huber and Herrick" store. However, I did find a wealth of information on the HUBER family: "JOE HUBER FAMILY FARM AND RESTAURANT, HUBER ORCHARD AND WINERY. Home to seven generations of Hubers since 1843, the Joe Huber Family Farm and Restaurant in Starlight, Indiana, has become a favorite country-style restaurant and working farm open to visitors year-round. Simon Huber migrated from Baden-Baden, Germany, in 1843, bringing apple trees to plan at his new home in Starlight. A member of the fourth generation, Joseph Huber Sr., and his wife, Mary, bought the land now known as the Joe Huber Family Farm in 1926. They and their family of eleven children grew fruits and vegetables and raised cattle and chickens. Joe Huber Jr. continued to help on the farm as an adult but also worked for the Indiana Gas Co. Following Joseph Senior's death in 1967, Joe Junior and his wife, Bonnie, purchased the farm and moved there with their five children. Joe Junior left the gas company to farm full-time, supplementing his income by driving a school bus. The same year they acquired the farm, the younger Hubers invited the public to pick their own green beans and began opening the farm to visitors. They soon constructed a farm market to sell the pickers the vegetables they gathered. In 1983 they added the country-style restaurant. The farm offers guided tractor and wagon rides and is well known for its seasonal offerings of pumpkins and Christmas trees. The nearby Huber Winery is Indiana's largest estate-bottle winery, with its own farm market, cheese factory, petting zoo, wine tastings and vineyard tours. The winery was established in the early 1970s by Gerald and Carl Huber, who were also descendants of Simon Huber. Gerald's son, Ted, succeeded him as the winemaker and operator of the winery." author, Mary Margaret Bell Hope this helps someone. 2. Clark, Charlotte A (RBI-US)
    3. thanx patty, i think my John B. Clark is related to the Rockcastle Co. KY Clarks who were in KY by 1801, or at least earlier than 1848. the s/o Julia Graves and Joseph Clark was a John Clark b. ca. early 1800s. no one has been able to find what happened to this John Clark. his brother Wallis/Wallace and sister are listed in the Rockcastle co. info, but nothing on this John and since his mother Julia Graves Clark was b. in VA, we think, perhaps this John Clark went back to VA and he might be the connection to my GGF born in 1848 in Vir. i AM grabbing straws, aren't i??? hahhahah anyway, my John B. Clark was deff. born in VA in 1848. i have no idea when he came to KY or why. if he is related to the Wallace Clark who is s/o Julia & Joseph Clark, he may have come to KY to stay with them. i think he m'd ca. 1870. thanx again, i really appreciate it. i read everything clark.
