    3. Hi List, You have all been so helpful in the past that I wonder if I can request another favor. My grt.-grt. grandparents, Jeremiah and Sarah Page, lived and died in Louisville and are buried in Cave Hill Cemetery. Jeremiah Page d. or was bur. on 19 Feb 1886 and Sarah Page d. or was bur. on 1 Feb 1890. Would some kind soul look up their obits for me? I'd be really grateful. Dori Bruns, Fallbrook, CA (where the sun is out for a change)

    2. Janis Fowler
    3. Debbie, You are correct. Originally named St. Mary's the first burials took place in 1851. The name was later changed to St. John's. Most of the records are gone but the Catholic Cemeteries Office does have some books. I know they do have some entered in their database but they have, also, had to refer to the books. You can contact them at: 502-451-7710

    3. The Louisville Anzieger is at the Filson Historical Society. I think you would have to find someone who could read the old german. I do not think the Filson offers this service. They just hold the microfilm. You could email their genealogy specialist, Nettie Oliver to find out. Her email is: [email protected] Of course, most of their services have a fee. Janis

    3. Frustrated...I live 1000 miles from Louisville and can't get ANYONE in my family there interested enough to help. If I could only get up there to spend one whole day at the library...so many questions answered. In the meantime, anyone know of a volunteer who would be willing to look up ONE obituary? I have so many, but this is one may be a key find and is now at the top of my wish list: George Nold - Died 12/16/1891 - buried St. Michael's Cemetery - German descent, so may be in German newspaper. 3. Bob, Funny, I was just in this area today looking for old homes for another list member. I have looked in the 1859 directory and the closest match of Gregory on Market is of a Tilford Gregory, butcher at Market bet. Clay and Shelby. In this book, there are several other Gregory's with nearby addresses but not on Market and not a photography place. In 1911, I find no Gregory's living on Market nor do I find any that are photographers. Wished I could help more. These are the only 2 directories which I have access to.
