    1. Re: [KYJEFFER] KY School for the Blind 1870 Census
    2. There was a Scoggans family in early Louisville. In the late 1800's they built their home near the blind school. Three of their daughters taught there. I think a wing of the school was named for one of them. His name was Warner Scoggans and his wife was Lutie. So if you find the Scoggans you should be in the vicinity of the Blind School. Paulina

    3. Jeanette, The IGI database from the LDS Familysearch.org site gave the following marriage: James W. Bradley to Louisa C. Hopkins, 2 July 1867, Jefferson County, Kentucky Thanks to Debbie's posting of Batch #s for marriages for Jefferson County on the IGI, the search took seconds! 1. LDS IGI Batch #'s
    2. Debbie
    3. I have gathered about 49 Batch #'s from the familysearch website for Jefferson Co. Most of these are for marriages. I have submitted the list to Donnie who will at some point post it to the web page. He is working mighty hard these days. Anyone that would like a copy can email me directly and I will forward the list to you if you are interested. In my search, I also was able to gather a few from other states and counties. I have some that are from Wheeling, Ohio Co., WV and Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., PA if anyone is interested in those. Debbie

    1. Re: [KYJEFFER] 2314 Olmstead Ave. /1900
    2. Kenny: Olmstead Avenue was changed to Woodland Avenue. I'm not sure which year the name change occurred. Woodland Avenue ran from Dixie Highway west to 39th Street, north of Magnolia Avenue. The criss cross I have shows the resident at 2314 Woodland Avenue as Rose A. Arnold. This block was between 23rd St. and 25th St. I don't know the exact date of the criss cross I have, as no where in it is there a date of publication. Hope this helps! Glenn

    3. Hello List, Can anyone tell me where Olmstead Ave. was back in 1900. I have folks whom based on census, had lived at the above address. As a child, it seems I recall an Olmstead Ave. but can not seem to find on a current map so assume it has since been renamed. Seems the street had historical meanings somehow. Thanks in advance. 3. I don't know about Lexington Cemetery and some of the others but do know Cave Hill doesn't seem to be a complete listing of those buried there. My grandfather is buried there and he doesn't come up in their database, however my grandmother does. Just use caution. If you have reason to believe a relative is buried there you may have to contact them direct.
