    3. Hello Lynn, I am writing in reference to the following message you posted to the KYJP List 10 Dec. 1999 (V99 #460). I am interested in your HUDSON connection. I believe my HUDSON family was across the state line in Obion Co., TN from about 1839 on. I have not found verification of when my g-g-grandfather, Pleasant HUDSON arrived in Obion Co., but according to birth records for his children he was probably there by around 1839. He purchased land in 1849 (Tennessee Land Grant). There is quite a bit of controversy about where he was born. His oldest son's death certificates states Pleas HUDSON born Henry Co. TN, mother unknown; his daughter's death certificate states Henry HUDSON born England, mother Paulina HUBBARD born TN. The 1860 Obion Co. TN Census indicates that Pleas HUDSON was born 1813 and Paulina in 1821. Hudson Family Association records say Pleasant HUTSON/HUDSON was born 1820 Virginia and Plynia HUBBARD no information (based on records submitted by a woman claiming descendancy from Pleasant and Plynia's daughter Elizabeth). I have ordered death certificates for all the remaining children hoping to find corroborating evidence. As you can see, I have not been able to nail down exactly where and when Pleasant or Paulina were born; don't know who their parents are or who their siblings may have been. I have a gut feeling (very unsubstantiated!) that my HUDSON line may have been in the Jackson Purchase area; therefore, I would like to visit with you about your HUDSON line. I have a lot of information about Pleasant Hudson's children. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you. I have read the inquiries for several months now and decided to get into the swing of it all! I am looking for information on these families: BRIGGS, BURRUS, LUTEN, BEADLES, GRIMES, BOYD, HUDSON I do have info on the Burrus and Luten families that I would love to share. The other families are sketchy but I do have a few starts on them. The Grimes, Hudson, Boyd and Briggs families are the ones that are really giving me fits. I am looking forward to hearing from you all. Thanks so much! Lynn Briggs Just lcbjust@cs.com <snip
