Diane, I regret that I don't know much about this family. According to a distant cousin, William D Ray's father was Robert. I have William R, so Robert must be his middle name. All I know about Robert's wife, Barbara, is what I got from the 1850 Gibson Co, TN census - she was 44 years old, born in NC. My information on Wm R Ray is from 1830, 1840, and 1850 Gibson Co, TN, census. I have not explored that county further. The children were born between 1832 and 1839, so one could presume that they were born in Gibson County, but I have not looked. So many ancestors, so little time....
