In 1821 the entire Jackson Purchase area was Hickman Co, in 1822 Calloway Co was formed to include the area now known as Marshall Co. In 1823, Graves Co was formed as it is today, in 1824, McCracken Co was formed to include the northern part of what is now Ballard Co. In 1825, Marshall Co was formed from the northern part of Calloway Co and in 1842 Ballard Co was formed to include what is now Carlisle Co. In 1845 Fulton Co was formed and in 1886 Carlisle Co was formed. All county borders are the same today as they were in 1886. Hope this helps. Nadene
