Jennifer NEW HISTORY INITIATIVE TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON "My History Is America's History," the Endowment's new family history initiative, will be announced this month during Thanksgiving week, when the subject of preserving family history will be a timely topic for millions of families gathering throughout the nation. "My History's" guiding principle is: Follow your family's story and discover America's history. The Endowment has developed a toolbox of resources, including 15 things everyone can do to save America's stories. Beginning Nov. 21, you can download the "My History" guidebook for free and post your family story in the online archive by visiting the project website at http://www.myhistory.org. There are sample oral history interview questions for drawing out relatives' memories; tips on preserving family treasures such as photographs, furniture and videotapes; and classroom and family projects to give students a personal connection to American history.
