My friends - As we begin a new week of data postings, I am going to return to our review of the 1852-1859 Graves County Vital Statistics birth records. In prior posts, we had worked our way up to 1855, and we will continue with that year in this posting. If you see a name of interest to you, and you would like the full dataset for that birth(which normally includes the date of birth, sex of the child if not obvious, and the name of the father and maiden name of the mother), let me know and I will get that information to you. As always, your assistance in not resending this entire message back to me with your request is greatly appreciated. I have also added two new images to the JP Images Web Site. These are from the 1880 Graves County Atlas, and consists of the east and west sides of Township 4, Range 2 East. This covers the Clear Spring, West Plains and Twin Oaks area of Graves County. Some of the surnames shown as residents on this map include Smith, Kaler, Owens, Miller, Hollan, Woods, Mason, Fleming, Pryor, Coulter, Pritchett, Wilkerson, Puryear, Bressie, Summerville, Ford, Cosby, Hicks, Reed, Holmes, Hall, Weaver, Taylor, Gough, Chapman, Byrd, Jones, Carlile, and many others. The original of this particular map was dim, and I had to enhance it in order to get a workable image. As a result, there is some loss of clarity in the printing shown on the map, but I believe the names are generally readable. We have 6 new subscribers who have joined us in the past 48 hours, and I want to welcome them to the JP List, and invite them to post their research needs in the 8 counties of the Jackson Purchase region of KY here to the List. There is a good chance that someone among out 535 subscribers may be able to lend a hand. I also invite them to visit the searchable JP List Archives, where all of the previous posts made to this List, as well as my 300+ data posts, are available and can be searched by name or keyword. The Archives can be found here: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=KYJacksonPurchase-L Again, welcome. -B ============================================================ Graves County Vital Statistics Records - 1852-1859 - Births - Part 14 Cope, Milton Record, Malinda J.
