My surnames are: HARDY, CRUCE, MORRIS, CHEATHAM,GRAHAM, JENNINGS. I am looking for information on the marriage of Sam H. Hardy to Elizabeth Jane "Lizzie" Cruce 26 Dec 1885 in Obion Co. Tennessee. Would their marriage application have Lizzie's parents names on it? Also looking for birth records of their son's Elbert Hardy b. 1896 and Lonnie Hardy, b. 1893 in TN. Sam H. Hardy is the son of Joseph H. Hardy and Nancy Graham Hardy of Fulton Co. Kentucky. Sam was born in Kentucky and Lizzie was born in Tennessee. I don't have a clue as to who Lizzie's parents were. I have been told by another researcher that there was an Elbert and Lonnie (Cruce) listed in an old census in Obion Co. Tennessee. Since these are the names of Elbert Hardy, my grandfather, and Lonnie Hardy, my g-uncle, I feel there could be a connection. Sam and Lizzie seemed to have moved back and forth between Fulton Co. Kentucky and Obion Co. Tennessee as one of their children was born in Kentucky and the rest in Tennessee--they had two older daughters, Bessee b. 1888 in Kentucky and Anna b. 1890 in Tennessee. Sometime before 1900 they moved to Clay Co. Arkansas. They were listed in the 1900 Clay Co. AR census. They had two of their younger children in AR.-- Clyde and Pearl.
