I know this question falls a bit outside the jurisdiction of our Jackson Purchase area, but Bill has said in the past that sometimes we go outside the area a little bit. This question concerns the iron furnaces of Stewart and Montgomery Counties of western TN. My family moved from this area into the Jackson Purchase area about 1868. Does anyone out there know if there are any records of employees that worked the numerous furnaces in and around Stewart and Montgomery Counties? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Daryl. p.s.
