Hi Everyone, My great grandfather, William Peter Denny of Calloway and McCracken Co., KY, kept journals in the 1860's. I am trying to place people he mentioned into families. Any help you could offer on the Lynn/Shelton/Sheldon and Garnet Families mentioned below would be appreciated. Regarding the Lynn Family In the 1862 Journal he mentions Molly Lynn as one of the girls attending a party at Sycamore Grove. I do not know where that is or to which family she belongs. In the 1863 Journal Mr. or Mrs. or Ms. Lynn are referred to several times but without first names. Sunday the 5th of July 1863 "...came to Billingsleys went to Lynns got sum appels...." Monday the 13 of July 1863 "...went to Mr. Lins to get a mule...." Saturday the 25 of August 1863 "...Henry and I went to Lins and got sum apels. went to the river saw Mr. Derington...." In the 1864 Journal we get first names on many small incidences but I can't put the family together so any help will be appreciated. Becky Lynn Clay Lynn Molie Lynn Newton Lynn Mr. Lynn Mrs. Lynn. The Shelton/Sheldon names do not start appearing until 1864. Fannie Shelton/Sheldon Mollile Shelton/Sheldon Mary Shelton/Sheldon Betty Shelton/Sheldon Mr. Shelton/Sheldon Mrs. Shelton/Sheldon Ms. Shelton/Sheldon Many times they are mentioned with the Lynn's. Of interest is the Dec. 31, 1864 entry.
