I am new to this list and have been very impressed with the info that is here! Thanks! I have a question. I was interested in the Bowman Cemetery list that came out today and wanted to know, as a relatively new to genealogy person, how accurate are the cemetery list dates? I have the family bible that belonged to Albert Petty Thompson's family (handed down in my family) and his birth date there is listed as March 3,1829 (not March 4, 1829) and the date of his first wife Mary Bowman is listed as June 1, 1831 (not June 14, 1931). His second wife and son, Horace A. were listed correctly as I have them. It could be that the bible records are not as accurate as they should be, I guess! I have family papers that state that Albert (Bert) P. Thompson was first buried at "The Pines",in Paducah, KY, his parent's homeplace (which later passed to my Quarles family from his mother,Aunt Alice Petty Thompson). After his death on the streets of Paducah in 1864, the family was afraid that his grave might be disturbed if he was buried in a cemetery so they had a quiet burial at home. Several years later, there was a hugh procession that moved him from "The Pines" to Bowman Cemetery. This was recalled by my great aunt, who followed the procession as a child. Thanks again for a very informative and interesting forum! How do I acceses the JPL Lore archives? Lucy Manson
