My friends - I thought I would drop in and give you the latest update on responses concerning the possibility of our having a Jackson Purchase "homecoming" event next year. When I checked my e-mail this morning at 7 AM, I had 127 messages waiting. I receive about 600 e-mail messages a week, but this was a large number for that early in the morning. Many of them were responses to the homecoming event. As of this moment, we now have 52 subscribers who have responded with an affirmative, "I'll be there", message. If we add family members that were mentioned in the responses, this brings the current total to 59. There were also 9 others who indicated that they would "like to attend", but could not yet commit, for various reasons. Realistically, we can expect about a 10% reduction in attendees at the event, if this goes forward, due to last-minute changes in plans, etc. We may well reach the minimum 75 attendee mark.
