Dear Bill, This is a genealogy question (or two) in general. You seem to be quite knowledgeable about these things. In researching my ancestors that came to Kentucky from other parts (Tennessee, North Carolina etc.) I have come across statements that they were tithable. My question(s) is what does titheable mean and what was the age for being titheable for a male in the late 1700's early 1800's. Also at what age could a male own land. Joyce
