A while back there was a discussion about why so many couples from Kentucky went to Tennesee to get married. I just spoke to a Calloway County relative who gave me a reason that I don't recall reading in the previous list. She said Calloway Couples went to (Charleston) Missouri to get married because in Kentucky you had to have a blood test and you had to wait too long for the results. She said you didn't need a blood test in Missouri. I don't know if the same applied to Tennesee. She would have married in the 1930-40's.
