    1. [KYJP-L] Joseph and Laura Nunley
    2. In 1975 I decided it was time to start researching my family. I talked with all of the older members and was told: My gggrandfather was Joseph Spurlock Nunley. He was born in Nashville and was one half Cherokee. My gggrandmother was Laura Ellen Wilmoth. She was born, raised and married in Mayfield, Graves County, Kentucky. Her parents were killed by carpetbaggers and she was raised by an uncle, James Bradley. She had a sister named Anna who married Bill Tharp. My ggrandfather, John Riley Nunley, was born in Paducah, Kentucky in 1874. In 1880 they were at Clark's River, District #2, Paducah, McCracken Co., KY After tons of snail mail and no results, I stopped searching. Last year I got this computer and now have time to spend at the library so I decided to try again. I have found lots of info on other family members not much on Joseph and Laura. I have found the marriage record for Joseph and Laura in Belmont, Missouri, October 3, 1874. Joseph purchased land in Yell County, Arkansas in 1889. The 1900 census shows Joseph b. Dec, 1856 in TN, father born VA, mother born AL. Laura b. October 1858 in KY, father b. TN, mother b. TN. Children: John R., Callie J., Raymond R., Washinton H., Cina Belle, Ninetta, Ollie G., Uvie and Cynthia. I can't find any information before 1900 except for the marriage record. I can't find any evidence that they were ever at Clark's River, District #2. I have searched every record I can find. I even went to Paducah, Mayfield and the Kentucky Archives in Frankfort to see if I could find any records. Nothing!! Does anyone have any ideas what I do now? Thanks Beth
