Hello Bill and all, I am a transplanted native of Hickman, KY now (for the last 50 years) living in Washington State. I am looking for any information (or means of finding same) about the following people: My paternal grandfather, Ballard Preston DeHart married Martha Sue Higgs some time in the mid 1890's. I have his ancestry but have nothing about her. I don't know if she was a native of Fulton or one of the neighboring counties. She had a sister named Nell who was married to "Bud" (real name unknown) Dotson. At on time, in the 30's, Bud and Aunt Nell worked a farm, just out of Kenton, TN, which was owned by a Mr. Bransford of Union City.I believe that both Uncle Bud and Aunt Nell were living in Hickman when they died. The father of Aunt Nell and my grandmother, Martha (Mattie), and aunt Nell was (I'm told) Charley (or Charlie) Higgs. I am also looking for information about my maternal g-grandparents --William Hamil and his wife Belzonie (or Belzonia). Great Grandmother Bell was the daughter of a William Carter and his wife Sara (Sarah) Okey (or Okie --- or Oke). William and Bell Hamil's daughter Maude was my grandmother (married to Clay Puckett - the son of John Franklin Puckett and his wife Martha Carolyn Coleman, of Hickman County) If anyone has any information about, either, the Higgs, Hamil, Puckett or Coleman families I would be grateful. ........ (As I said earlier, I have a great deal of info on my DeHart predecessors, but any more on them would also be appreciated - especially the exact marriage date of Ballard and Martha).
