Here is some additional input on the nickname Jincey/Jency, etc. Just spoke with my mother who was born and raised in Mayfield, Graves County. Her best friend, also from Mayfield, goes by "Jency" as the diminuative of her given name, Jeanette. I assume Jeanette is the French form of Jane.
