Bill, Some time ago, August or so, you found my Benjamin Clark on the 1859 Calloway Co. Census. You also found L. Sudduth with daughter Julia Ann. I have scoured the 1850 census and had no trouble finding Benjamin with father William but I can not find the Sudduth family. Could you please tell me what house number they were located at? Below is a copy of the correspondence that we had. Thanks again for any help. "Checking the 1850 census of Calloway County, there is a Benjamin F.Clark, age 17, born TN, shown as a son of William Clark, age 49, born NC, and his wife Sarah, age 49, born SC. In addition, there is also a Julia Ann Sudduth, daughter of L.Sudduth, shown in the census. She was age 13 in 1850. L.Sudduth was born in VA, while the daughter was born in KY. I suspect that these are your people. I am curious, however, about what resource you used to obtain an 1856 marriage on Benjamin and Julia Ann, given the fact that the courthouse fire in 1886 destroyed Marriage Register #2, which ran from October of 1846 up to the time of the 1886 fire? I checked in the Calloway County Vital Statistics records for 1855-1858 and did not find the marriage there, although that is not definitive, since those VS records are woefully incomplete and inaccurate."
