Terry, The community of Ann Eliza was first settled in 1830, and renamed in 1858 "Kentuckytown" by the Kentucky emigrants. During Civil War it is said to have been a rendezvous for the Quantrill gang. However earlier still the Kentuckytown Baptist Church was founded here by the Kentuckians coming here by wagon train in 1853. My husbands G-Grandparents Thomas A. and Amanda Kidwell Matthews and family were among some of the later settlers, coming about 1890 by wagon train from KY. and are buried at Hall Cemetery.
