In my research I need to identify "Doctor Scott".I don't know if he was a MD or if his first name was Doctor or that was a nickname.Whatever his name was, a great uncle of mine was named Doctor Scott Grigsby in his honor. I know the verbal history and I have to consider it factual because of Uncle Scott. I will tell a brief bit of this history in hope someone can help to creak my brickwall. The time is around the end of the Civil War in KY. A gentleman served in the war, came home, due to his illness, to wife and 3 children. They had 4th child. She died shortly after his birth. 'Doctor Scott' and wife took in the father and his 4 children. Father's name"?" Stom/Stum; mother's name"?" Unsell. Children Mary b.1852 KY? d.1925 TX; Martha about same age married a Rawlings(family has no genealogy on her); James about same age, he and his family came to TX with Mary and her family; George the one born after Civil War, all I know is he is buried around Wickliff. I wish that I could recover the family records lost in a house fire. Any help welcome--Alicia
