Howdy Everyone! My ancestor, George Denny, was appointed as one of the commissioners to "let the contract and superintend the construction" of the courthouse in Wadesboro (Calloway Co.) in 1830. It was completed in 1831 and served until 1842 when the county was divided.. There was an earlier courthouse as early as 1823. Does anyone know if the second courthouse is still standing and where it is located? Also: Does anyone have any information on these towns around 1830-44?
