Newspaper items on the Cook Surname I copied these items from a GREAT book - Don Simmons Graves County, KY Newspaper Genealogical Abstracts Vol. 2 Friday 10-23-1885 J. H. Cook announces as candidate for jailer. Born int that part of Livingston county which now constitutes Graves County. Has lived within tenmiles of where he was born 63 years ago. (South Graves) Wed. 6-08-1887 Miss Zula B. Cook of Boydsville married to W. H. Stotts of Memphis, Tenn. 2-1-1888 The 4 year old child of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Cook died of measles last week. Walter Cook b. 8-29-1883 d. 1-25-1888 youngest child of W. S. and Clemmie Cook. On 18th clothing caught fire and burned him. He later had the measles and pneumonia. Mention of little sisters and brothers. Wed. 4-4-1888 >From Foy Mr. H. Cook died near here. 9-2-1888 Mrs. Zula Stotts of Memhpis, formerly of Boydsville, has been visiting her old home. 2-27-1889 Mrs. T. A. Cook, nee Parton, granddaughter of J. T. Seay, born Graves County 5-10-1869, died the evening of 2-14-1889 at her home in Boydsville. She never knew the love of a father, he having married the second time while Zula was very young and she was raised by her grandparents. J. T. Seay and wife. She married J. W. Cook on 1-22-1885 leaves mother, half brothers and sisters, husband and three small children. Signed her aunt.
