Don, Found the following on ancestry.com: Name: Samuel K Rhorer , Enlistment Date: 16 August 1861 DISTINGUISHED SERVICE Side Served: UNION State Served: Kentucky Unit Numbers: 795 795 Service Record: Enlisted as a Hospital Steward on 16 August 1861 Enlisted in Company G, 3rd Infantry Regiment Kentucky on 08 October 1861. Promoted to Full Assistant Surgeon on 01 December 1862 Mustered out Company G, 3rd Infantry Regiment Kentucky on 13 October 1864 in Covington, KY The 1870 Census of Columbia, Adair Co., KY shows Samuel K. Rhorer as born about 1837 in KY. He is a physician living with wife Bettie 44, and son Ralph age 1. The 1880 Census of Bloomington, Monroe Co, IN shows Samuel K. Rhorer, born KY, with wife Elizabeth and son Ralph, and 2 more sons,Harry age 8, and Kent age 5. Harry and Kent are shown as born in IN. Samuel is listed as a Drug Store Merchant.
