I came across the following Obit among my Aunt Patsy's estate papers. This is in reference to my great-great grandmother Nancy Emoline WELLS Ivie. I know the Ivie's were in Calloway County and have visited the IVIE Cemetary. I also know they married in and amongst the WELLS family. However, this is the first solid information I have on Nancy Emoline. If anyone else has information on this Nancy Wells, please contact me. _kfrankrn72@aol.com_ (mailto:kfrankrn72@aol.com) Nancy Emoline Wells was born in Kentucky, May 27, 1848, died at her home west of McKenzie, November 1, 1915. Age 67 years 6 months and 4 days. She was married to Will A. Ivie in 1868. While quite young, she professed faith in Christ and united with the Christian Church. To this union were born eleven children, five of whom died while young. The following children, with her husband, survive: Finis Ivie; Mrs Ellen Hickman, Afton, Texas; Ealy Ivie, Mrs Ewing Brandon, John Ivie of McKenzie and Abb Ivie of Farmersville, Texas. Mrs Ivie had lived within three miles of McKenzie for many years. She was a good wife, tender and affectionate mother. She longed to see her children, who live in Texas before she died and she lived to see them come home. All that her physician, Dr. Everett, husband, children and loving friends could do was done, but to no avail. After much suffering she passed to that land where there will be no parting and while we cannot bring her back, we can live such lives that will give us a hope of meeting her again some day.
