My friends - Our friend Gayle Holmes advised me today of the loss of one of our long time List subscribers, Chuck Owen. Chuck was very active in research for a long time and he and I exchanged many messages over the 8 year history of the JP List. Gayle included the obituary, which is shown below. Owen, age 78, of Cullman, AL passed away July 17, 2005. >He was born November 30, 1926, in Mayfield, Kentucky. He lived his early >years in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and graduated from Poplar Bluff High >School. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri and a member of Pi >Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He served in the Navy during World War II aboard >the aircraft carrier, the USS Makassar Strait, CVE-91. He worked with >Morton Frozen Foods and Hunt Wesson Foods for over 30 years.
