    3. My great grandfather died intestate. His probate folder is missing from the county courthouse. The probate index, however, shows that a public administrator was appointed 24 Aug. 1975. Can anyone give me an idea of how long after someone died that a public administrator would be appointed? Months? Days? Weeks? Any clues appreciated. __________________________________ Cheri Casper 1220 W. 13th Street Spokane, WA 99204 Phone: (509) 624-4497 Fax: (509) 624-4497 clcasper@sprynet.com OR catpurrson@rocketmail.com Researching -- Allison, Anderson, Carney, Casper, Derrington, Durbin, Helms, James, Johnson, Jordan, Miner, Pennington

    1. [KYJacksonPurchase-L] Hickman County - Early Marriages - Part 13
    2. Bill Utterback
    3. My friends - We will begin our week's data postings today with a return to the Early Hickman County Marriages series. In past postings, we had advanced to the year 1838, and we will continue with that year today. If you see a marriage which is of interest to you, and you would like the full dataset for that marriage(which generally consists only of the marriage date, although an occasional surety or consent may appear), let me know and I will forward that information on to you. This quantity of marriages shown below will be fairly short for this post, as I am leaving for St.Louis in the morning and will remain there until Friday, when I will return home. I will have my trusty laptop with me for communication purposes, but, due to my travel schedule for tomorrow, I may not arrive until late in the evening, which will cause me to have to abbreviate the quantity of the post today, and possible tomorrow as well. We have had 8 new subscribers join us in the past 3 days, and I want to take a moment and welcome all of them to the List. We invite them to post their research needs in the 8 counties of the Kentucky Jackson Purchase region here to the List. It is very likely that someone among our 570 subscribers can be of help in your search. The Jackson Purchase Images website and the JP FAQ website(the URL's were in the Welcome Message) are available for your use, as is the searchable JP List Archives, which can be found here: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=KYJacksonPurchase-L Again, welcome. -B ============================================================ Hickman County - Early Marriages - Part 13 Moranne, Brown B. 3. Hi, Doveswing, I don't think I can help you but I'm hoping you (or someone ) might help me. I am trying to find out who the parents of Clark Williams b. about 1838, were. He and wife Virginia are on the 1880 Census of Hickman Co. KY. Do you know if any of your Williams had a son named Clark? They lived in the Oakton area of Hickman Co. Williams is one of those really tough names to trace in this part of the world. They have a lot of information on nearly every state but neither is a complete record. > > Does anyone have land, tax records or Will and Probate records on any of these people? The Kentucky Archives on Rootsweb has some land, tax and Will or Probate records available. It at least gives you a place to start. Most information found on the internet needs back up documentation but it sure helps to give you a place to start looking so you save time when you do make it to a libary. Betty E. More
