    2. Hi all was wondering if perhaps there is an accessible marriage index for Fulton County. Am seeking year of marriage for Dora (Beecham) JONES to Frank MILLER, perhaps in city of Hickman. haven't a clue as to when the marriage took place, other than perhaps between 1920-1950. 1. [KYJP-L] Graves County - 1840 Census - Heads of Households - Part 7
    2. Bill Utterback
    3. My friends - It appears that my ISP has their new mail server up and running, so we will return to data posts. I am going to continue with the Graves County 1840 census in today's posting. Some of the surnames are ones that are familiar to me as being connected with some of our subscribers, so I thought I would go ahead and post this additional Graves census today. If you see a name of interest, and would like the full enumeration data for that individual, please let me know and I will get that off to you. As always, your help in not resending this entire message to me with your request is greatly appreciated. We have had 11 new subscribers join us in the past 48 hours, and I want to welcome them and invite them to post their research needs for the 8 counties in the KY Jackson Purchase region here to the List, so that we can, hopefully, be able to assist them in the quest. We now have 577 subscribers on this List, and we continue to grow. I invite our new subscribers to peruse the searchable JP List Archives, located here: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=KYJacksonPurchase-L In addition, the JP Images web site and the JP FAQ Page are available to you(the URL's were in the Welcome Message), as well as the JP Land Grants Page, located here: www.rootsweb.com/~kygraves/JPGrants.htm Again, welcome. -B +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Graves County - 1840 Census - Heads of Households - Part 7 Morgan, John Redman, Thomas L. 1. [KYJP-L] Murray Colledge Class of 1946 Reunion List - Part 4
    2. Merilee Blaine
    3. Dear Fellow Jackson Purchase Researchers, This is 'part 4' of the "Class of 1946" reunion list- found among my mothers papers. The list is not dated and it does not indicate which reunion. However I discovered that both my siblings and I used the back of it to write some notes. So...useing the scribbles as a guide, I estimate the list to be generated for a 1966 20 year reunion. The third set of surnames are: HENRY, HOGANCAMP, HOLLAND, BROWN, HONCHELL, JEWELL, HUDSON, WHITAKER, OFFUTT, JOHNSON, JONES, FITCH, PRYOR, ALLEN, RAGLAND, RHODES, HINMAN, RIDDLE, ROGERS, KEMPER, ROYSTER, RUSSELL, SAMMONS, GUTTAG, SCHULTZ The value as I see the list is in locating siblings of ancestors, especially the female line, because it lists the full maiden name, the married name, and the "present" address. There are 80 persons listed. Of the names, thirty six persons were living outside Kentucky, and four were listed as deceased. The surnames listed in the post may be the students original surname, or if female, a married surname. If you see a surname that interests you, please e-mail me personally and I will provide you both original surname, and when applicable, the married name. (In the interest of privacy for those listed, I will not provide the address.) Happy hunting! Merilee Blaine mlblaine@earthlink.net

    1. [KYJP-L] No Data Post Tonight
    2. Bill Utterback
    3. My friends - There will be no data post tonight, as my ISP's mail server has been locked down on the SMTP side(the sending end)most of the day. I have at least 30 messages(besides this one) in queue that may or may not get out. I went over to AOL(which I use as a backup service in case my ISP is having problems), and sent this same message to the List, but it has not appeared, so I am going to try to get this one out, just in case the AOL message disappears. I *can* still receive e-mail - sending it is the problem. My ISP received their new mail server machine today and hope to have it installed within 48 hours. If you are awaiting a response from me, it is in the queue - its just a matter of when they can break the sending half of the old machine loose to get the mail sent out. A little mail seems to get out every hour or so, but it is a slow process. Hopefully, things will be improved by tomorrow. -B ============================================================

    1. [KYJP-L] ALDERSON Family of Henry Co, TN and Calloway Co
    2. I am researching the Alderson family of Henry Co. I believe three Alderson siblings married three Burton siblings. Elizabeth Burton m 1848 in Calloway Joseph Alderson: Seth Burton m 1851 Lucy Alderson: The above were all buried in Old Salem Cem. Third couple is John Burton m @ 1880 Elizabeth Alderson. Another sibling is perhaps Anna Elizabeth who married Isaac Adams. These Aldersons are all perhaps the children of Joseph Alderson and Katherine Erwin, of Giles and Henry Cos, TN. Can anyone share info on this family. Thanks, Peggy Sutherlin

    1. [KYJP-L] Richardson Family
    2. Elton Hatley
    3. I am hunting any information on the family of Samuel L. Richardson who was born in Obion Co., TN in 1911. He was the son of Samuel D. Richardson and Mattie Crowell. I cannot find the family in Tennessee in 1920. It is said they moved from Obion Co., into KY but I do not have the name of the county they were supposed to have moved into. They were tenant farmers, so it makes sense to me that they may have moved into the counties along the border of TN/Ky----Fulton, Hickman, Graves or Calloway. Mattie died abt. 1919-1920. Can anyone help me place this family. Samuel L. Richardson and his father, Samuel C. Richardson both died in Davidison Co., TN in 1954. Joan T. Hatley johat@usit.net

    1. [KYJP-L] No Data Post Today
    2. My friends - I am using my "backup" ISP (AOL) to let you all know that there will be no data post today. This is due to the fact that my ISP's mail server machine is locked up on the SMTP(sending) side, and I am unable to get messages sent out, although I can still receive them alright. I have about 15 messages qued up to send, but the techs tell me that they are unsure when they will be able to get the sending side up and running. There has been a larger influx of new internet users here in the past month and the mail servers of all of the local ISP's were not up to the task of handling the extra load. My ISP has a new machine being installed, but that may take another day or two. In the meantime, please do *not* send me any messages to *this* address. Send them to the regular address, as I can still receive mail there. I may have to respond from this address, if the sending end of their machine is still not working. -B =========================================================

    2. I need information on James ABANATHA (could be misspelled Abanathy) b. abt 1855 and living in McCracken in 1896. Could someone do a lookup in the 1900 Census for McCracken for him for me? I think he may be James Walter or Walter James, since the 1920 Census has Walter with wife Mary Jane and daughter Roberta, which is James' correct family. Any lookups appreciated!!!!! 1. [KYJP-L] Graves County - 1840 Census - Heads of Households - Part 6
    2. Bill Utterback
    3. My friends - Today, we are returning to Graves County to continue our review of the 1840 census for that County. If you see a name in which you have an interest, and would like the age enumeration dataset for that household, please let me know and I will get that off to you. As always, your help in not resending this entire message to me with your request is greatly appreciated. My ISP has had a 200% increase in its e-mail traffic in the past two weeks, due to the influx of a number of corporate calling centers in this area(with new jobs and new people arriving), and is having to replace its current equipment with a new, larger and more powerful mail server machine. That work is in progress now, but while it is going on, there may be some delays in messages getting out and messages coming in, and there may even be a few lost. If you send me a request, and do not get a response within 48 hours, send it to me again, just to be safe. I try to respond to all requests within that time frame, even if it is only to say that I did receive it and will get the data off a bit later. The new machine should be installed by the end of the week. -B ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Graves County - 1840 Census - Heads of Households - Part 6 Barnet, John Dodson, Wm Farmer, Stephen Roberts, Frank Wharton, Robert Griffith,Jason Stark, Charley Roberts, Henry Clanton, John W. 3. I wrote and asked about the site and received this: Dear Jess; We did not disconnect the KVS site because of waiting for the Death, Marriage and Divorce portion ... we disconnected it at Vital Statistics request. The site as it exists right now is a "prototype" and it is not quite ready for prime time. There are some unresolved issues regarding incorrect information and how to correct it, and it is up to the agency responsible (in this case Vital Statistics) to tell us when they are ready to "go live". We also have to find the appropriate web server on which to house this application since it will definitely get a lot of hits. When the site is available, it will be linked from not only Vital Statistics site, but from other "highly visible" pages as well. (Possible the main KY page, and KyDirect.Net). We "think" it will be very soon, but that is not a definite. Thanks, and good luck. Charles Richard Collins wrote: > Anyone know what happened to this?
