My friends - Today, we are moving back over to Calloway County to resume our look at some more late 19th newspaper snippets from that county. Because I am preparing this evening to leave for Dallas for three days, starting tomorrow, the listing below will be rather short, and there will be no data post tomorrow(Tuesday), but I will try to get all requests answered, as I will have my trusty laptop(I understand we are supposed to call them "notebooks" now) with me for communication purposes. Subscribers to the lists I host can request the full extract of these snippets by sending a message to me with the name of the individual for which the full text is needed. Due to the somewhat lengthy aspect of some of these pieces, I would ask that you prioritize what you may need and not ask for more than 3 items. Please remember that these snippets can range from nothing more than a notice that someone is visiting someone else all the way to a lengthy death notice with a biography of the deceased. When requesting a snippet, please do not resend this entire message back to me with the request. Your help in that regard continues to be greatly appreciated. I will check in from my hotel in Dallas tomorrow evening. -B ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Calloway County - Late 19th Century Newspaper Snippets - Part 4 Graves, Ula Irvan, Wilson Covington, A.I. Linda, Rush Creek Cemetery is located on Rush Creek Rd about one mile north of Hwy 94 between Hickman and Cayce, Ky. It's closer to Cayce than Hickman. I have a Fulton County Cemetery Book which includes this cemetery. Contact me directly, as I may be able to put you in touch with someone who can help you with unmarked graves in that cemetery. Hi, Can anyone tell me if there is a list of the people buried in Rush Creek Cemetery near Hickman, KY. My grandmother is buried there, but there is no stone and I have no proof. She died in 1909. Her name was Birdie Clark Smith. She died when my Mother was a baby and she knew about the location, but with time, I can find the cemetery, but not the location. My Mother has also passed away. If anyone knows of a list, would you please let me know through the list or at dave@hcis.net? Thanks Linda Minton Simmons

Hi Ballard Co. researchers, I am looking for information on a James N. Dennie b. 1836 TN who m. Mahelany/Mirahellena Deweese abt. 1856 and had at least 2 children: Mary E. b. 1857 Ky and Charles W. b. 1859 Ky I believe this James was James Denny b. in Obion Co., TN and fought for the Confederacy returning shortly before its surrender. Does anyone have any information on this family? I am in need of a marriage confirmation--does anyone have Ballard Co. Marriages 1852-1878 to check for this marriage abt. 1856? Does anyone have Dr. J.S. Seay's Registry of Births in Ballard Co., KY to see if any more children are born to James and Mahelany? I also wonder if there might be a Confederate pension application. Does anyone have the Ballard Co., KY Confederate Pension Applications Book to check the index for this family? Thanks so very much!! Dear JP Rooters, Could someone please do a cemetery lookup for me in the JP area? I am looking for my grandfather's sister whose name was MARY OLLIE SNOW PERRY. She was born in Graves County (probably Mayfield area) on October 12, 1866 and died on February 25, 1895. She married Charles Arvel Perry on November 16, 1887 in Graves County and she is supposedly buried in Graves County where there are numerous other Perry family members. I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can give me. Janis SNOW Mundy Reno, NV
