    1. Roll Call & Updates
    2. Hello to all of my Jackson County family, friends and contacts, It is roll call time again. Would everyone please respond with the family names you are researching to the list. Please include dates if known. It would also be helpful if you would put this in the subject line of your email: Roll Call - names researching. I know alot of you have brick walls ( I sure do ! ), and you never know when answering roll call will help you find that missing piece of your puzzle. Updates: Carol and I will be working on the Jackson County site for the next few months to give it a whole new look. When everything is in place, the site will be unavailable, possibly for several weeks. Carol and I are considering a contest for a new logo for the Jackson County site. We would like to know what you think of this idea and who would like to participate or recommend someone that would? We are also looking for the following Jackson County information to add to the updated site: Family stories, biographies and pictures. Coal mining stories and pictures, school and church stories and pictures. Keep in mind that you receive full credit for anything that you contribute to the site. Carol and I are not the "owners" of anything on the site, and you reserve the right to have it removed upon request. If you're interested in submitting information to this site for other researchers : Please make sure that you do not include information on living people. When submitting information, please do not not submit anything you have not generated yourself or violates copyright law. Also, we're looking for people who might be interested in transcribing the following records: Birth, death, marriage, church and census to be included on the site. You will need to have access to the records and I am working on having the records available to you instead of you acquiring them yourself. If you can help, contact me at Cissy1963@aol.com . If you have genealogical data on this site that you prefer not to have placed in the Repository Project, it must be removed from this site. While I hope no one will do so, if you wish for anything that you have contributed to be removed, contact me about it soon. In an effort to preserve genealogical data contributed to KyGenWeb sites, a Repository Project has been initiated to serve as a storage place for county sites to help insure that data will not be lost due to server failure or human malfunction. County sites are not required to participate in this project. However, I believe that it will be a great benefit and have decided to allow the Jackson County site to be uploaded into the project. Have a great weekend , Sarah (Cissy)Thompson / Jackson County Coordinator
