In looking over the info more I am sure that Jacob Lakes was enumerated twice on 1870 and 1880. Especially if you look at the records of Thomas Jerry Lakes. The marriage record of Thomas J Lakes in 1891 lists his name as Thomas J Lakes. Thomas J Lakes married Rachael Cunnagim [sic] on the 25 Nov 1891 in Jackson County, Kentucky. The surety for the marriage was Jacob Lakes. Now if we look at the obit of Jerry Lakes we find that Jerry Lakes is one and the same as Thomas J Lakes. Jerry Lakes Jerry Lakes died at Berea College Hospital at 3:30 p.m. May 29, 1964, at the age of 91, of heart trouble. He was a native of Jackson County, the son of Jake and Lizzie Ann Johnson Lakes, born October 31, 1872. He was married first to Rachel Cunagan, and late r to Rose Gipson, both deceased. A member of the Holiness Church, he was a farmer, blacksmith and carpenter. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Georgie Bowman, Sand Gap, Ky.; Mrs. Dellia [last name not given], Cincinnati, Ohio; one son, Roy Lakes, Hamilton, Ohio; two sisters, Susie Mink, Livingston, Ky.; Rhoda Cromer, Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, George Lakes, Livingston, Ky.; Fred Lakes, Hamilton, Ohio; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. at Sand Gap, Ky. Interment in the Johnson Cemetery, Sand Gap, Ky.
