His father was Abel Pennington and his mother was Elizabeth (Betsy Boling). She is buried in the Green Hill Cemetary in Annville, Kentucky and is the oldest grave there. Abel's final resting place is a mystery. Only record we have says he was buried in Lizard Flat, which is an old name for a place on Moore's Creek. I've looked there and can't find his grave.
